lifebox container modules
As stated before, the LifeBox Container is a mobile infrastructure designed with the following modules in mind: Medical/Healthcare, Water & Sanitation, Education, Telecommunications, Housing/Construction, Micro-Credit, Agriculture, and Entrepreneurship/Job Training.

The Medical Module, for example, would include a health clinic for the community, filled with medical equipment. However, this unit must be developed in full collaboration with expert groups, such as doctors and nurses serving in these communities. The planning for the health unit must be unique to the community it will serve, some communities needing to focus on HIV/AIDS prevention & treatment and infant mortality, while others may need to focus on malaria and combating diseases carried by the community's livestock.
The community could choose to add on this medical module an educational module. Education modules will be equipped with broadband satellite connectivity. This module would provide primary education to the community members, equipping them to become more self-sustaining. The Education Module also allows for additional outdoor space surrounding the LifeBox Container that could be used for classrooms and training sessions. This can become a hub of activity and generate excitement in the community. Make sure to check out our media page for a look at a high school's design for an education module.

Sustainable and renewable energy sources are a key aspect of the LifeBox Container. These technologies include solar and wind collectors for generating power for, perhaps, the medical equipment and educational kiosk. The Housing/Construction Module would not only build homes, but provide jobs for community members. Conducting training on construction, use of power tools, etc., this module would be an exciting time of growth and new experience for able bodied community members.
Expanded on more in the Collaboration section, ACI would work with the community to discern the greatest needs. It is never our goal to come into a community and impose our thoughts on which module best suits them. Instead, we will offer our advice on each module, send a Critical Needs Assessment (CNA) team to the community to observe and discuss options with community members, and move forward when the community is in agreement on which module(s) will be most beneficial. The end goal would be an entire community center, run completely by the community members, and containing all of the necessary modules.
